Spaying & Neutering Pets
Spaying and neutering our animal friends is important and necessary for many reasons. More than 4,500 dogs and cats continue to arrive at Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS) each year - most due to a lack of good homes. By spaying and neuter our pets, we can help stop the pet overpopulation crisis and reduce the number of animals euthanized in Peoria County each year. Spayed and neutered pets live longer, healthier, and happier lives than those who are not altered. Do the best for your pet and have him/her spayed or neutered today. Contact your veterinarian for more information about the surgery and health benefits to your animal.
PCAPS LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAMS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
PCAPS maintains a contract with the local Peoria County Veterinary Medical Association for spay/neuter services. Unfortunately, due to staffing shortages in the local veterinary community, these services are not currently available. We recognize the importance of spay/neuter and the role of low cost spay/neuter programs as a solution to the pet overpopulation problem. We are working to restore these programs as quickly as possible.
