Contractors hit another milestone in the Health and Human Services build yesterday with the first concrete pour. As anyone working on a pour knows, you're on the concrete's time. Construction of the Health and Human Services building, at the site of the former Peoria City/County Health Department building, continues to make great progress. Masons have built the stairwell and elevator towers, and the large floor where the community room will be near Sheridan Road is ready to be poured. The crane is on-site, and steel is going up rapidly.
Once complete, the new building will house the Peoria City/County Health Department, Regional Office of Education, Coroner's Office, and Sustainability and Resource Conservation.
