On 05/29/2023, at approximately 8:46 pm, the Peoria Police Department, Peoria Fire Department, and Advanced Medical Transport responded to 2047 N. Gale Ave. on a shot spotter with five rounds. On arrival at the scene, two victims were located with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, an adult male, was transported to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria unresponsive, not breathing, and with no pulse. Despite aggressive efforts, he was pronounced dead at OSF in the trauma room at 9:26 pm.
The autopsy on the male, 30-year-old Rick Ranson, of Peoria, demonstrates that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and died instantly.
No further information is being released at this time. This case remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
